Florida-based GenNext taken over by US firm- Florida-based GenNext - a process outsourcing services provider - has recently been bought by US-based Virtual Technology Leasing (VTL) Inc. The US company that has one of its branches in India is now looking at investing around US$10 million in India over the next two years. GenNext, which employs around 125, has a contact center facility with a seating capacity for 150 people in the city. Virtual Technology Leasing Inc. will also be focusing on building infrastructure and management bandwidth for mid-sized companies in the US, UK and Canada which are looking for state-of-the-art BPO facilities in India.

VTL launches "ShubhGhari.com" for searching bride and grooms of matching age. The online matrimonial portal, plans to increase its presence in the country. VTL plans to expand its presence to 160 cities with 400 more centres by 2008-09, adopting the same model, which has been followed so far. Adding that the offline model was to help the parents, who are not ardent internet users, but at the same time looking out for prospective brides/grooms for their children.
We have 25.7 per cent of paid registrations versus approx. 75 per cent of unpaid, which while just being introduced is commandable than our competitors. Mr. Rabindra Nath (South an East operations India) claimed, while talking about the number of registrations on the online version.
Stating that growth of the organisation was about 100 per cent year-on-year, he said that the recent funding from Florida would be used for creating a stronger brand presence for the matrimonial portal.
