My tryst with an offshore employee leasing company
Running a small business successfully with cutting-edge technology is not easy, especially in a country where you get competent software professionals at too exorbitant rates. And where even after you have spent a lot of money on recruiting and training your employees, there's little or no guarantee that they would work only for your company, and not use the acquired knowledge and expertise for the benefit of some other company with better incentives and pay packages. With a view to protecting ourselves from such a foreseeable nightmarish scenario, we decided to make use of employee leasing option. And began looking for competent professional organizations which could provide efficient professionals who could modify and re-write our desktop reservation system that uses the outdated Foxpro program. But initially even that option did not appear to be reasonable money wise and appeared to be too costly. As a matter of fact, when we got in touch with a few professional employee leasing organizations in Florida, US for our said requirements, the cost they quoted for their services left us in shock: the cheapest quotation for the entire project was 809,000.00 US dollars.
Since we were not in a position to pay so much money for the said project, and yet desperately and immediately needed the services of efficient software professionals, we got in touch with a few Indian offshore employee leasing companies, as we had heard a lot about them and their services that they provided to their clients. But here too we were disappointed, as the cheapest quote for the project was: 298,000.00 US dollars which still appeared quite exorbitant to us. We were contemplating what to do when someone told us about Virtual Technology Leasing, Inc. The first thought that struck us was: 'Hey, not yet another one of those employee leasing companies that promise moon at dirt cheap rates, but do not deliver even half of the promised work'. But for once we were proved wrong, and we are too glad for that. For VTL turned out to be the offshore employee leasing company that we had been looking for since long. Their rates - we discovered - were extremely competitive, and yet their services proved to be outstanding. At 1500.00 US dollars for 2 professionals for 3 months, the total cost so far has come to just 9000.00; and about 35% of total work has already been satisfactorily completed. At this rate, our work would be finished in another six-odd months, and the total cost to our company would come to around just 50,000.00 US dollars which is peanuts compared to what other companies in the business normally demand, and what we got in quotations earlier . We are so satisfied and impressed with VTL, their overall work performance, efficiency and professionalism that we have started recommending them to others.
